At Cell Phone Technicians we are committed to protecting the environment and reducing everyone’s carbon footprint in the communities in which we operate by extending the life of electronics through repair and reuse. This means fewer phones in landfills and fewer phone that need to be recycled. Every year a record amount of consumer electronics are sold. In most cases, last year’s model ends up sitting in a drawer. In the worst case scenario, it ends up in a landfill.

Since 2007, Cell Phone Technicians have been giving cell phones a second life. We’re committed to making sure that people know damaged equipment can be repaired, so their devices can get a second chance at life and not end up in a landfill. The devices we repair are re-used, the devices we buyback are re-sold and many of the devices that are beyond repair are recycled in an environmentally friendly way.

Every individual and every corporation is responsible for greenhouse gas emissions just by functioning on a daily basis: driving, cooking, heating and cooling, shipping packages and letters, etc. All of these tasks require energy, which, in the United States is most often derived from fossil fuels. The combustion of fossil fuels releases greenhouse gasses which are a powerful contributor to global warming. The total amount of carbon released by the activities of a person or corporation is called a carbon footprint.

Reduce. “Reduce” means using fewer resources in the first place. You don’t need to let go completely or all at once. “Reduce” is a comparative word. It says: cut back from where you are now.

Reuse. Before you recycle or dispose of anything, consider whether it has life left in it. An older model can be reused and a broken cell phone can be repaired.

Recycle. End of life equipment has metals and plastic that can be recycled and used to create other products.

Aside from adding volume to landfills, throwing cellular phones in the trash can contaminate groundwater and a landfill with several toxic substances. To avoid such contamination, visit a Cell Phone Technicians Store or check to see whether your local cell phone service provider can help recycle your old cell phone.

With a firm commitment to our customers, charitable organizations, and our local environment, Cell Phone Technicians is proud to serve as the catalyst for the responsible re-use and recycling of used cell phones.
